Guy Powell’s Bangladesh mission trip shows how the Shroud of Turin can support Christian teaching across cultures. The journey began with a demanding trip into Bangladesh. Powell then delivered seven presentations across seven days.
His goal was simple. He wanted to connect Scripture, the Passion, and physical evidence found on the Shroud. One central passage shaped the presentations: Isaiah 53. Powell linked its suffering-servant prophecy with the Gospel Passion accounts. He then used a full-size Shroud display to explain visible wounds.
These included scourge marks, wrist wounds, foot wounds, facial injuries, and the pierced side. The presentations were designed for small groups of Christian leaders. Many participants were house-church pastors serving local communities. Around 30 people attended each event.
Across the mission, Powell estimates about 200 pastors received the training. Those pastors may reach thousands more through their own congregations. This gave the mission impact beyond the original meetings. Powell also described the importance of discussing the death of Jesus Christ clearly.
The Shroud became a teaching tool within that message. For Powell, the experience changed how he plans future presentations. He now emphasizes stronger links between Isaiah, the Passion, and Shroud evidence The mission also created a next step.
Supporters hope to print a full-color booklet for pastors in Bangladesh.
The booklet would connect Old Testament passages, New Testament teaching, and the Shroud of Turin. Future trips may continue this work. The goal is to equip local leaders with practical teaching resources. The story also connects with The Only Witness, Powell’s book about the Shroud’s history.
For viewers interested in the Resurrection, this recap offers a different perspective. It shows the Shroud used in active Christian outreach. The Bangladesh mission was not only a speaking tour. It became a model for future teaching, training, and discipleship.
