At the Shroud of Turin 2025 International Conference & Symposium, Professor Giulio Fanti unveiled new evidence and interpretations surrounding the Shroud of Turin—the linen believed to have wrapped the body of Jesus Christ. His findings bring together faith and science in an extraordinary way.

Professor Fanti presented mechanical, chemical, and x-ray dating results that challenge the widely known 1988 carbon dating. His new analyses suggest the Shroud may indeed trace back to the time of Christ. Fanti’s team also detected radioactivity and neutron emissions in blood samples, proposing that these phenomena could correspond with a historical and spiritual event—the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

He explained how nitrogen transformation through neutron radiation could have altered earlier dating results. Furthermore, his discovery of three distinct types of blood, beta radioactivity, and fluorescent reactions point to unprecedented physical properties found only in the Shroud’s fibers.

In the second part of his talk, Fanti explored how the Holy Fire of Jerusalem and Mylar chemical reactions could have played roles in the Shroud’s image formation. He even linked scientific transparency of matter to the theological concept of the Virgin Birth, suggesting that divine phenomena could have physical explanations.

Professor Fanti’s work represents one of the most ambitious efforts to unite scientific rigor and Christian faith.
